A bunch of American sol­diers serv­ing in Iraq have their own blogs. But most of them read like press releases from the Coalition Provisional Authority, or like the Free Republic’s foam-​​at-​​the-​​mouth rants.
Then there’s Jason Van Steenwyk. Often nasty, usu­ally hilar­i­ous, this Army offi­cer writes long, unvar­nished posts about G.I. life. Check out his lat­est tale, on “Dead Haji Storage,” here.
