I’m going to Jamaica for a week, for some hik­ing, snor­kel­ing, and hor­ti­cul­tural research. But the Defense Tech HQ won’t be closed while I’m away. Instead, the supremely qual­i­fied Dr. Jeffrey Lewis will be at the helm.
Jeffrey is a Research Fellow at the Center for International and Security Studies at the University of Maryland. He lec­tures around the world on defense issues. And for years, he’s been the guy you turn to, for the nitty-​​gritty on the Pentagon’s pro­grams for com­bat and sur­veil­lance in space. Only folks on Rummy’s pay­roll get deeper into the Defense Department’s ledgers.
Jeffrey is also a hell of a writer, con­tribut­ing to Defense News, Arms Control Today, and other security-​​minded pub­li­ca­tions. His breezy, catty blog, Arms Control Wonk, is on my daily must-​​read list. I steal from him as often as I can.
