The Santa Fe police are clearly implicated here also, although they may well be blameless. Cops never look too hard at this sort of thing, it would not pay them (for all sorts of reasons). Pressure can get applied by the most unlikely people to the mst unlikely people. Also, never underestimate the capacity of the public service and government to close ranks to "handle" a leak source like this. They usually resort to scare tactics, as this is quite effective. Murders do get investigated, beatings do not. A beating is a much better "fit" to the cover story. It's quite logical to me. Poor guy... Also, if 99.5% of personnel at Los Alamos are honest and reliable (a very very high figure), then over the years, a few people have done a few deals. It only takes one corporate criminal to do a deal. Los Alamos Labs would be the perfect place to do it because a: there's lt s of MONEY in that place, b: most people there are very honest and straight (=naive) and so who's going to do the detecting. The corporate crim got unlucky with this guy and poured some heat on him. The informant was a bit doey to go there, but this sort of thing happens all the time. Bottom line: TOTALLY BELIEVEABLE! Why do it after he's talked? Easy: PAYBACK...

Obviously a CLASSIC setup.
The Santa Fe police are clearly implicated here also, although they may well be blameless. That makes about ZERO sense. As for hitting pedestrians...well, I guess he must have hit a member of the Sopranos family because they beat the living bejesus out of him and then fled the scene of the crime. As for lap dances, who gives an F?

Sorry guys, if my husband went to a titty bar and got beat up, can’t imagine him inviting the entire national news media to take a look see whether he’s lying or not.
