From a former U.S. Navy and a Active Duty Army member, I am truly surprized at the level of advanced “techno know how” Iran currently possess. Both in R&D (for indiginous systems)as well as research and development not to mention the attention to detail required in “reverse enginnering” pre exhisting systems. Some of which that we in the US military use on a day to day basis ie:comms systems as well as others(sorry cant say which) But you get the picture:o)

I didnt prove your point at all. If you prefer, you could hire someone to build one for you if you wanted. You make it sound as if beacuse one cant pick one out of the sears catalogue that they dont exist and are illegal. Radars aren’t T-shirts. How is that average engineers are working on collision avoidance systems using radar if the “department of commerce has unconstitionally forbidden the sale of them in thr first place.”

You may not be able to buy a complete one off the shelf at walmart (they tend to be pretty specific to the task at hand), but there is nobody stopping you from making one (assuming you have the know-how). Antennas, STALOs, .… all the stuff you need is COTS. As for FCC (which I presume you meant rather than the ATF), there are plenty of bands on which you are allowed to treansmit.
