UPDATE 4:19 PM: Haninah is calling BS on the laser enrichment story.

The Australian story about laser enrichment was a bit inaccurate (as often happens when journalists recycle press releases as “news”). Laser enrichment was proved technically a long time ago, it just hasn’t been proved economically (just a few years ago many people thought the US was about to start using laser enrichment on an industrial scale — see the two links below). The press release from Australia seems to describe some technical breakthrough, but it doesn’t seem to prove that laser enrichment will now be economical, so it’s not clear to what extent it’s really news.
Not you guys’ fault, it’s the Aussie journos’ fault.
