David's right -- Ionatron is less about Tesla, and definitely more about using itty-bitty laser pulses to cut channels in the air, which electricity then travels through.

>Pentagon will anytime this decade buy a lightning weapon in mass quantities is so remote
>as to be almost nil. So, why not just go to Vegas, put your money in the slots, and have some fun.
At least someone here does not need to live with a tin hat. We don't need any Science Fiction weapons that will never be reality.

"What's the deal with all the book promotion articles on Defensetech now?" reader DS asks. "If this is part of a deal or whatever to pay for Defensetech and still keep it free for everyone than I understand, but you may want to warn people about that....lol."
To be clear, this is not a paid promotion at all. I think Sharon has written an important book, touching on a lot of the issues that this site deals with on a near-daily basis. So I thought it would be cool to have her write a week's worth of guest-posts, tied to the book. I'm really happy with the results.
