We now have the reported success of the missle intercept system today,and the new dimension of Japan participating in the exercise(for the first time). I find the somewhat contemptious view, expressed in your article of our ability to respond to North Korea med/long range missle firing, poorly thought out.The system is working.Granted nothing is 100 percent.
NK’s gambit has now been trumped.It does not matter why NK is making noise.It only matters that we are able to respond decisively to them.

This entire excercise is about the attention Iran has been getting instead of the DPRK. Turning the system on was a big enough mistake. I just hope we don’t make an even bigger mistake and actually try to hit anything. Nothing like showing your weak hand to reassure allies and influence adversaries.
