   Good Afternoon Folks,
   Is the Cato Intstutiteattacking one of it’s own?
   In it’s arti­cle on Ivy League Colleges and Universities have they for­got that there “Decider and Chief” none other then President Bush was a “C” Student at Yale as well as “Evader of Service in Vietnam”,as an Undergrate and no-​​show MBA at Harvard.
   I guess we are back into that Republican rit­ual of eat­ing there own when they lose the debate. “Have they no shame?“

   That National Review arti­cle misses a big point: the “counter-​​recruiting” move­ment on most cam­puses today (in con­trast to, say, the Vietnam-​​era anti-​​ROTC move­ment) is not about telling peo­ple not to serve, but about protest­ing against dis­crim­i­na­tion in oppor­tu­ni­ties to serve. The Ivy League schools’ “war” on Pentagon recruit­ing is about the Pentagon’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” pol­icy which actu­ally BANS some peo­ple from serv­ing their coun­try, how­ever moti­vated they are.
   The Pentagon can’t say “sorry, some mem­bers of your com­mu­nity aren’t good enough to serve our coun­try” and then com­plain when other mem­bers of the com­mu­nity stand up with their friends and say they won’t serve either.
