Good Morning Guys,
To change the subject a bit. I saw out on San Diego Bay yesterday (8/14/06) a demo. by Lockheed and BAE of a new product called “The Protector”. Other then a sales promo to DHS who is in town for a border security conference I’m not sure why it was brought out. But of course with there unlimited funds that’s enought reason.
What I saw was about a 20′-24′ basic blue colored runabout, conventional hull, water jet powered craft, looks like it could top out at 40 Knots, maybe a little faster, that appeared to have no on board operator, there were two guys on board but they appeared to be there only in case something went worng. The demo craft looked like it had an M-240B on a “Stryker” type mount on the bow.
The craft did everything one would expect a boat of this type to do, something like a lead in for a TV series set in Miami, I guess.
Can anybody tell us more about “The Protector”?
ALLONS,
Byron Skinner
