But will this mean that they'll be afraid to act according to their mandate for fear of losing that? Or rather, it will - any type of action against Hez will come at the price of a loss of inside contact. Will they be able to navigate this tradeoff succesfully and be effective? It's basically the tradeoff that community policing raises. (I can't wait for the HBO spinoff, "The Wire: Beka'a Valley".) I think it’s great that they have the trust of the locals — I wish we did.
