There’s no reason to keep the Kitty Hawk considering the Navy has twelve carriers and is still building more. Having another old carrier that will be an expensive boondoggle to upgrade doesn’t appeal to anybody, and as aircraft grow larger an older ‘60s carrier will be less and less futureproof. There’s a reason why Enterprise is going to join Kitty Hawk in the retirement bin, after all…

Don’t retire it. We still may need it. We still may use it for defense in future battes, there is still a potential danger from rougue nations like Iran, North Korea and it’s allies.
