I also have read "Red Star Rogue" and many others including "Blind Mans Bluff", "A matter of risk", "Rising Tide" and many more. But what makes this sub story interesting, is what and how Kissinger used to change the cold war. There was something important that he uses to change the course of history.

Interesting article posted here on the lifting of the K-129.
Scroll down to see the article. One of the pages is a little cut off.

Correction: in the last phrase of my previous comment I referred to Blindmans Bluff, and I actually meant Red Star Rouge

Great artical, the cold war has always facinated me, so many advances in military and civilian fields. I wouldnt be suprised it if was learned that We did have something to do with the wrecks, but it would suprise me if we civies ever new about it.

My greetings.
I hope that for my first post, I won't mangle English too much (I'm French).
I've recently bought a book: Red Star Rogue: The untold story of a Soviet submarine's nuclear strike attempt on the U.S., by Kenneth Sewell.
Though the theory described in it on the submarine's mission is quite scary and subject to debate (the Wikipedia entry on the K-129 mentions it as well as a rebuttal of it), it's a very interesting read. Would you have an opinion on it ?
With thanks for your work,
Sebastien.
