Several dozen people including a pilot, county constable and business owners insist they have seen a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast. Some reported seeing fighter jets chasing it.
“People wonder what in the world it is because this is the Bible Belt, and everyone is afraid it’s the end of times,” said Steve Allen, a freight company owner and pilot who said the object he saw last week was a mile long and half a mile wide. “It was positively, absolutely nothing from these parts.”
While federal officials insist there’s a logical explanation, locals swear that it was larger, quieter, faster and lower to the ground than an airplane. They also said the object’s lights changed configuration, unlike those of a plane. People in several towns who reported seeing it over several weeks have offered similar descriptions of the object.
Machinist Ricky Sorrells said friends made fun of him when he told them he saw a flat, metallic object hovering about 300 feet over a pasture behind his Dublin home. But he decided to come forward after reading similar accounts in the Stephenville Empire-Tribune.
“You hear about big bass or big buck in the area, but this is a different deal,” Sorrells said. “It feels good to hear that other people saw something, because that means I’m not crazy.”
Sorrells said he has seen the object several times. He said he watched it through his rifle’s telescopic lens and described it as very large and without seams, nuts or bolts.
Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, said no F-16s or other aircraft from his base were in the area the night of Jan. 8, when most people reported the sighting.
Lewis said the object may have been an illusion caused by two commercial airplanes. Lights from the aircraft would seem unusually bright and may appear orange from the setting sun.
“I’m 90 percent sure this was an airliner,” Lewis said. “With the sun’s angle, it can play tricks on you.”
Officials at the region’s two Air Force bases Dyess in Abilene and Sheppard in Wichita Falls also said none of their aircraft were in the area last week. The Air Force no longer investigates UFOs.

The AF admitted in recent years that it had purposefully promoted UFO stories in order to draw attention away from the classified prototype aircraft it was flying in the same areas.

If there were we could see them in space to this day has someone said “I saw a UFO in space?” Unmarked aircraft, and unmanned aircraft I could say yes to. Take a look at “The Day After Roswell” by Retired Col. Phillip J. Corso. He claims to have been one of the primary people in the filtering of material from the Roswell crash into mainstream industry, including microchips, lasers and Star Wars platforms. Can anyone really believe a bunch of people just made this up? There was the craft over Phoenix last year that was remarkably like the one these people describe.Remember, it could be something off the black books, or actually a ufo, but it appears they saw something. By ignoring it, we are either trying to cover up our own work, or ignoring something we shouldn’t. I would bet the Air Force may be investigating it, it’s just we “children” probably can’t be trusted with such “scary” information. Just like we had to be spoonfed crap to get into Iraq by dear old George.
Despite the true odds, I can only hope that aliens are the explaination. George Noory tells me I’m safe because the aliens only want those “tasty Canadians”, of which I am not one.

The simple fact is, most people wouldn’t know what to do if ET did show up. Some (most?) would panic, some would form a new religion, some would start shooting, and a very few would try to communicate–which will be very difficult: no common frame of reference.
Are people seeing UFO’s (ET type ships, I mean)? In all likelihood, no. Have they come to Sol? Possibly, but they would, no doubt, have better sense than to get close enough to be noticed. Much better to send a disposable probe with cameras, radio receivers, etc. Let the probe send back information on a tight beam radio or laser, then crash it into the atmosphere or moon, or just let it go past and find its way to the sun. Land on the THird Rock? I wouldn’t. Especially not if I’d taken time to watch some of the commercials and sit-coms being broadcast around the clock.

Conspiracy theorys are for weak minded people. Frankly, when you learn how many galaxys, solar systems, planets there are in existance, the odds are that there is life (other than ours) out there. If an alien society is advanced enough to travel all the way here, what the hell can the USAF do about it? Nothing. Next, who the hell cares if a UFO is real or not? I have more pressing problems and I know that GW does as well, after all he is trying to limit the damage to his legacy. Doesnt anyone realize that if it was aliens, we dont stand a chance if their hostile? If they arent, there is no reason for the AF to investigate. This isnt the movies. Bottom line: if someone can’t identify it, it’s an alien ship!

Early in the 1980′s I saw a ufo around Marksville La. It was around 3: AM and a full moon, the ufo was round and silver looking. The size of a football field. I stop my truck, and got out.I stood there a few minutes, trying to see what it was.When all of a sudden a small object,came flying to it. About the size of a car, It stoped under the silver object,and then went into the large silver ufo.The large object then got smaller and smaller, till you could no longer see it. It was very fast, it just disapeared
Let me just say that i do believe that the people in stevenville texas saw what they said they saw. There were to many people that saw the same thing, there is no way they are lieing about it. I know damn well there is not a plan or anything that big on this planet flying in the air. Me and my buddy were outside one night and we saw a white object going really fast and then it just stopped, it was completely still for about 1 minute, then it took off and turned red and it was gone. And roswells real people wake up, there were old people on their death beds that dont have to worry about getting waked because their about to die anyways. that tell us they were there at roswell and saw it all and tell everything about it. A city councilman from Stephenville here. The Air Force now says they did have ten F-16s in the MOA on the night of 8 Jan 2008. Problem is, the MOA is not 8000 feet above Stephenville, according to pilots. So what is going on? If it was a military exercise here, why didn’t they tell local governments about it instead scaring folks and animals. I’m thinking about filing a federal complaint on behalf of my constituents.

There are some kind of strange beings of light in my neighborhood. Nobody seems to want to touch the story with a ten-foot pole. The reason people aren’t taking more pixs? They mostly seem to only come out around 4′o’clock in the morning. Not a lot of people out around that time. I think it should be investigated myself since we DO have a military base here in Okc, Ok. Who knows what these ‘things’ intentions are? Maybe they are intelligent, maybe not…and it behooves us to remember….everything needs a source of energy.
