Plot Thickens in Texas UFO Crisis

tonopa.jpg
Tonopah redux?

As we reported here a few days back folks in Texas are seeing UFOs and now the Air Force appears to be changing it’s story a bit. The plot thickens. This from a report running in Military.com’s headlines right now:

Fighter jets were training nearby the night dozens of Stephenville-area residents reported seeing a UFO this month, Air Force Reserve officials said Jan. 23, backtracking on earlier statements.

The announcement did little to satisfy residents of Texas dairy country who swear that what they saw in the sky Jan. 8 was no airplane. Some said it even bolstered their claims, because several people reported seeing at least two fighter jets chasing an object.

“This supports our story that there was UFO activity in that area,” said Kenneth Cherry, the Texas director of the Mutual UFO Network, which took more than 50 reports from locals at a meeting last weekend. “I find it curious that it took them two weeks to ‘fess up. I think they’re feeling the heat from the publicity.”

Officials at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station in Fort Worth initially said none of their planes had been in the area, but on Wednesday they said 10 F-16s were there that day. The officials said they were mistaken and wanted to set the record straight “in the interest of public awareness.”

Public awareness, indeed. Something is rotten in Denmark … and Texas. Remember, this is the same organization that developed the F-117 in the Nevada desert for years and years without anybody knowing about it. Have the citizens of Texas been given an unintentional glimpse of a black program?

Read the entire report here.

Why would you be upset at the Air Force for keeping a lid on its secret programs. I’m satisfied with the knowledge that there are somethings the public doesn’t need to know.

Yes this is the same group that developed the F-117. That also gave us our HUGE leap in stealth technology. They should continue to develop technologies without the public knowing about everything they are developing.

    OOGIE!
I’ll never understand those who believe that the public should be kept in the dark regarding weapons programs. Do you really believe that the USSR had no idea about our stealth programs in general or the F-117 in particular? Back in the 80’s the CIA put out a beautiful handbook noting alot of Soviet aircraft that were I’m sure classified by them. When it comes to operatives or operations yeah classify them but on programs, let the sun in and get some natural cleansing on our procurement programs.

Why is it that whenever something like this happens the stories are changed multiple times? I don’t care whether there is a conspiracy to cover up aliens or if there are secret weapons programs. The cause of these sightings should be viewed as largely irrelevant. What is of greater interest is the inability, on the part of the military, to effectively manage these news stories through their press bureaus.
What is incredibly irritating is the fact the Air Force Press corps has proven itself (time and again) unable to cover this up/explain this in a way that does not illicit suspicion. Changing the story multiple times contributes to ridiculous theories and supposed conspiracies. Even if this was an unexpected event, couldn’t an official just deny knowledge until a logical (true or false) explanation can be formed?
This seems to be part of a larger narrative our Armed Forces inability to properly channel information through media outlets. We’ve lost wars because of this blatantly obvious shortcoming. F****** fix this problem already!!!

giant UFO’s? AIRSHIPS. why keep it secret? because DARPA (and others) have been testing/using aerial NUKE powered (ion propulsion) ligher-than-air craft. (doesn’t sit well politicaly, to have the populace knowing you are flying nukes over their heads)
how do I know? because when DARPA first proposed “walrus” program; they let slip that they were intending to field ion propulsion airships.….later publications had that initial wording excised…
    I know airships.
    NIDS BBD’s were correct.

While I DO agree with the comment above about the PA SNAFU about this incident, I also agree with several of the posters. In that the general public DOES NOT NEED, Nor HAS THE NEED to know where every nut and bolt is going. If it was a new Black Project, then fine…If it was some sort of unknown, PLEASE don’t cover it up with non-sense F-16 BS. Just about everyone under a VFR MTR KNOWS what an F-16 looks, let alone SOUNDS like…even at night. Remember, there was NO SOUND reported and the thing was RIGHT overhead…Just tell us it was a weather balloon…we’ll believe them.…right?

    Baluga,
Why shouldn’t we know about these projects? Name the nation state that is technologically advanced that doesn’t have satellites orbiting the earth gathering information on what military secret we’re working on? China has penetrated our nuclear labs, the Russians had people in our FBI etc…the only people who don’t know whats going on is the American people. Sorry I just don’t believe that burying our heads in the sand is a good idea.

    A few comments:
    1) It’s hard for the Air Force’s PR guys, I’m sure. If this is a black project, then undoubtedly somebody higher up than the PR guys issued a release saying that there’s nothing out there, no planes were flying, etc. The PR guys just reported it, thinking nothing about it. Stories change when General McDumbass running the project doesn’t give a plausible cover story. The PR guys sure as hell don’t know what is going on. All they know is a few days later, they get told something different. At that point, they probably realize that something is up, but how do you cover up a project you don’t know about?
    2) Black projects and secrecy certainly have their place. Some are politically untenable. If they were common knowledge, you’d have Harry Reid or some other jackass demanding we cancel them. “You can’t hug with nuclear arms” (actually, you can, it just causes radiation burns). Some projects may require secrecy or they could lose their value totally. Remember those tests of ways to make aircraft invisible to sight? What if those were incorporated into the F-22? Right now, our enemies think we’ll only attack at night. The ability to make an undetected strike during the day would be a huge advantage. You lose a lot of that if everyone knows about it. Finally, I don’t think our enemies’ espionage is as good as it is made out to be. I know for a fact that certain classified information was still a secret at the end of the Cold War, even on things we had expected the Russians to have figured out.

I think most of you you say the public should be informed have never been in the military. Sometimes a battle or war can hinge on the smallest thing. Intel is very important, just ask the Japnese. Also, the you may have the information but may not trust it or even understand it. Look at 9/11. Why would you want to offer it up on a silver platter?

    Soloman;
While burying our heads in the sand is not an option, we, as americans, DO NOT NEED TO KNOW what black projects we are running at any given time. During WWII, a VERY small bit of intel came to the allies in the form of a button…that’s right, a coat button. Nothing was on the coat button (Microfilm, etc), but it gave the allies needed info because the button was to heavy winter clothing for the German army. They were making a TON of the things…leading the intel bubbas to surmise that a winter offensive was in the making.,..they were right!!!! Imagine if the Japaneese Navy had gotten wind of the A-Bomb, How it was going to be trasported, Etc…The Pacific theater would’ve turned into a slugging match and ALOT more people would’ve died on both sides (Mil and Civ). Black projects (Which is what the A-Bomb WAS, just that phrase wasn’t coined yet)need to stay that way. Some designs work…some don’t…but the technology gleened from them has TREMENDOUS value later down the line. Just because it dosen’t make it to the assembly line, DOES NOT mean we didn’t get our moneys worth.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemy. We demand knowledge about everything the government is doing and then turn around and blame the government for not doing or having what it takes to protect us. It’s reporters like this one that disclosed the location under the Greenbrier Hotel which was meant to house Congress during an attack. All the money spent and steps taken to preserve a line of succession & sense of normalcy during the worst of times is now an abandoned hole in the ground. If the government wants to develop somethng that will, in the end, help protect the United States from harm I’m all for it and I don’t need to know the details. My husband is a LtCol in the Air Force and has spent time away from us deployed so he can do what he does best. Lets stay out of our militarys way and let them do their job they’ve been hired (and certainly don’t get paid enough) to do shall we?

UFO’S OVER OUR CAPITAL AND PENTAGON 1952!
Guess what? They have flown over the Washington Capital and Pentagon. There were 3 nights of intense activity over Washington, D.C. On July 19/20, July 26/27 and August 2/3, the skies above the nation’s capital were crowded with UFOs darting here and there, over the White House, over the Capitol Building, over the Pentagon. There’s even a great picture of “them” with the Capital building. The Capital story makes this one back page news.

The above link will lead you to the congressional briefing about a near earth object collision approaching for a keyhole orbit shift possibility.
The large craft that was seen was earth arc orbital craft designed to hold a lot of select people in high orbit in case there is no solution to the NEO approach. The select people is the reason for the denial. If you read you will get the message by reading between the lines.
Not UFOs, just a way to save some of the people in case the worst is all we are left with.
Now you have the truth. Feel any better?

but being really stupid is not one.
Special Opps, Black Projects, new Secret
devices, et al: Why would our government (or
ANY government) have a Super Secret devise
and fly it directly over a city or populated
area? Remember the Pheonix Lights, the 1952
UFO’s over Washington D.C., etc. etc. ad nauseum.
In each case HUNDREDS of people saw them. In the 1952 case fighters were scrambled. Why scramble
fighters to intercept one of “our” machines?
If these objects are secret then fly them over an
ocean, over a desert, the south pole.

Ok here’s what I think about the whole thing. Now if there are UFO’s why can’t the United States citizens know? I understand that may be mayhem, but last time I knew we where paying taxes, and on that they pay the military so wouldn’t that mean the military works for us in a way? They are here to protect us but how can they protect us if we are blinded by current events? Do we want the whole independence things to happen? Having people run around with there heads cut off. That may happen if they told us the truth but at least we would have time to come down to reality. And then be aware of what’s going on. We have no where to run if there are ET’s out there. So why not face facts? And if there isn’t an aircraft then why to so many clam to see one? Are you going to say that whole state is crazy? And if they are flares then why that same pattern, and if so then couldn’t they at least say ” the things that are in the air are not UFO’s they are flares”? the are still under opps. And if they can predict that before shooting of flares in advance then the people would have no further reason to believe that these lights are UFO’s. I don’t know but why does the government want us to be blind? Shouldn’t we enter this thing with eyes wide open, they are?

For the Catholic blogger who earlier posted his, ahem, interesting views on ET life forms, I submit the following:
    Church wouldnt alienate ETs
Vatican astronomer: Beings would be Gods creatures, too
    By Associated Press
    Wednesday, May 14, 2008
VATICAN CITY — Believing that the universe may contain alien life does not contradict a faith in God, the Vaticans chief astronomer said in an interview published yesterday.
The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, said the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.
How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere? Funes said. Just as we consider earthly creatures as a brother, and sister, why should we not talk about an extraterrestrial brother? It would still be part of creation.
In the interview by the Vatican newspaper LOsservatore Romano, Funes said that such a notion doesnt contradict our faith because aliens would still be Gods creatures.
The interview, headlined The extraterrestrial is my brother, covered a variety of topics including the relationship between the Roman Catholic Church and science. Funes said science does not contradict religion, touching on a theme of Pope Benedict XVI, who has made exploring the relationship between faith and reason a key aspect of his papacy.
The Bible is not a science book, Funes said, adding that he believes the Big Bang theory is the most reasonable explanation for the creation of the universe.

Let’s try that again, hopefully without the cyberspace transformation of apostrophies and quote marks as ? and ?? respectively.

Vatican astronomer: Beings would be God’s creatures, too

VATICAN CITY — Believing that the universe may contain alien life does not contradict a faith in God, the Vatican’s chief astronomer said in an interview published yesterday.
The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, said the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.
“How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere?” Funes said. “Just as we consider earthly creatures as ‘a brother,’ and ‘sister,’ why should we not talk about an ‘extraterrestrial brother’ It would still be part of creation.“
In the interview by the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano, Funes said that such a notion ‘doesn’t contradict our faith’ because aliens would still be God’s creatures.

Many humans, long ago, believed and INSISTED the world was flat. Understanding the world is round is many times simpler than grasping the concept of extraterrestials that are far more advanced than us humans who have travelled to our planet from other planets, which is like a zoo to them. The question should not be “Do they exist?” or “Are they ETs?”; the question should be at the moment when seeing them “Are they going to hurt us?” and in the long run, “What can we do to advance ourselves to an inter-planetary species?” One possible theory to why the Sectoids (one given name for them, asides “The Grays”) are visiting us is because they are watching us to see if we are advancing fast enough before our world is (self-)annihilated or if we’ll annihilate ourselves due primitive self-conflicts between us humans. And the concept of aliens is far more simpler than the concept of multi-dimentional space-time, which is only 4 vectors out of the 11 dimensions out there… 8-o Oh, and here’s another wrench to make a common human go bonkers or to stop reading here… As Albert Eintsein says, it’s not possible to travel time (aka jump to the past or the future), YET it IS possible to jump back to the past or go to the future! Both statements are true. Don’t believe in aliens visiting us? Then don’t even bother going into temporal science. (the subject doesn’t even exist at this present time) In time, we’ll evolve as humans through better education. As adults, it is difficult to grasp far-reaching concepts that were never taught when young. It’s why we should never mock the cave-man, because how would it feel if the future mocks at you? It’s a sad fact that humans still are far from knowing everything, but we’re evolving and learning. Now go grab a beer! :) (if you’re at the right age and in the right place, at the right time)

The human race is allready quite able to think about 11 dimensional space time, even the concept of infinite dimensionsal space time; as in 11-D string theory and the theory of branes respectively. The concept of time travel is widely discussed among mathematical theoretical physics and even the concept of 2 temporal dimensions is proposed by the great Stephen Hawking. Attempts to indirectly detect or discern the nature and size of the extra-spatial dimensions will be made with the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
Humans are far from primitive beings. The truth promulgated by all Christian Denominations including the infallible teaching of the Papacy in matters of faith and morals is that all humans are made in the image and likeness of GOD and all humans share a fundamental moral equality before God. We humans all have a spiritual and immortal soul that survives bodily death and this soul is immeadiately and directly created by GOD. The human soul is accordingly radically endowed with free will and is rational in nature.
Moreover, human theology intelligably discusses the existence of pure spirits known as angels. These beings are much more advanced than any bodily ETs because these pure spirits known as angels do not exist in time or space, nor in any dimensional form of such. These beings called angels do not have bodies or brains nor do they need such. They are as far more advanced relative to any ETs than these ETs are advanced relative to wolfs or cattle on the farms of Earth.
As I stated earlier, I do not trust ETs in general although I certainly believe they exist and perhaps are visiting our planet. I think we need to prepare for their eventual interaction with our species and we need to start thinking up weapons systems and defensive tactics should the ETs prove aggressive.
It is a shame that we as contempory pop-culture American society put more hope in the existence of ETs instead of the pure spirits called angels of which there are nine levels or choirs, perhaps even more, and also in faith in the intercession of the souls of the deceased who are in Heavan, Purgatory and Limbo if Limbo exists.
Better yet is to put ones Faith in the Saving and Unique person and power of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Intercession of His human mother Mary, the Queen of the Cosmos according to the Apparitions allegdedly occuring in the former Yugoslavian town of Medjugorie. At Fatima, an apparition officially appoved by the Catholic Church, Mary stated that she is the Queen of the Universe.
Do ETs exist? They most certainly do and I do not trust any of them. Trust has to be earned and I do not trust any one who does not respect and honor their mother, and that includes their spiritual mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. The ETs phenomenon if anything is leading people away from Christ, the belief in the Singularly unique Queen Ship of Mary and Her as Mediatrix of all Graces, and the fundamental dignity of all human life as made in the image and likeness of God, and who has not just a physical body and primitive parts of a brain such as the limbic system and hypothalimus, but also a higly evolved frontal lobe, and much more, a spiritual and immortal soul that is eternal, not spatial or temporal, but eternal.
Perhaps when humans cease being told that they are primitive or worthless, then maybe they will feel more like living the life of supernatural sanctifying grace like they were meant to and are called by name by God to do such. Quite frankly, I think the whole UFO/ET phenomenon is brain washing the human race and even the Catholic Church is starting to fall victim to it.
