An Interview With Gen. P

petraeus-swj.jpg

Sometimes I can pull a rabbit out of a hat…

I had this scheduled for the last day of my embed in Iraq but was grounded in Baqubah because of weather and missed it. But he graciously rescheduled, and we’re happy to bring it to you literally hours after we spoke with the man in charge on the ground in Iraq.

Click HERE to listen to the PodCast from the Editor’s Desk with Gen. David Petraeus.

Someone should ask Gen. Petraeus what he’s doing to defuse the situation in Iraqi Kurdistan between the Kurdish Peshmerga & Turkish troops. If I understood correctly,Turkey has moved 10,000 troops with armored vehicles into Iraqi Kurdistan & Peshmerga troops are surrounding Turkish military bases already in Iraqi Kurdistan. If I may loosely quote the Randy Quaid character from the movie Independence Day,”“I’ve been telling you, ain’t I been telling you.….”

I’d sure like to know what Gen. Petraeus is doing to defuse the situation in Northern Iraq between Turkey & Iraqi Kurdistan(otherwise known as the “success story” of Iraq). It seems that Turkey has moved 10,000 troops & armored vehicles into Iraqi Kurdistan & that the Kurdish Peshmerga is surrounding Turkish bases already in Northern Iraq.
Hmmm,to loosely quote Randy Quaid from the movie Independence Day,“I’ve been telling you, haven’t I been telling you.…”

Kind of makes you miss having that B-2 Bomber that crashed in Guam just the other day.Now we’re down to 20.
Word to the wise,if we decide to bomb Iran, expect a sudden rash of mysterious,“unexplained” B-2 crashes happening, just like in Guam.Crap,Russia’s response to the Kosovo declaration of independence was pretty swift.Kind of makes you wonder if Lt.Col. Tom Bearden(Ret.) is a kooky nut after all?

Who knows, maybe its not “structural integrity” that’s bringing those F-15s down either. It is much easier to say that age is bringing down our aircraft than to say that maybe Russia &/or China has found a way to bring down our aircraft without the fingerprints of surface to air missiles, the public would totally panic if they thought otherwise.I go back to my statement about Lt.Col. Tom Bearden(Ret.).

Pretty amazing that Gen Petraeus has been in Iraq for 4.5 years. Talk about leading by example.
His grasp of details in all regions of the country was equally impressive.
Gotta admit, I was also impressed that you guys were granted 41 minutes of his time!!! Maybe he was rehearsing for testimony before Congress.;)

An opportune remark from Roy Smith: “I’d sure like to know what Gen. Petraeus is doing to defuse the situation in Northern Iraq between Turkey & Iraqi Kurdistan (otherwise known as the “success story” of Iraq).“
The news from that “success story” front in Northern Iraq, where Victory against the Insurgency is ALMOST at hand, just got better:
    “Turkish helicopter down in Iraq”:

I know you Americans embrace freedom of speech but when every third post is an off topic rant by Roy Smith it is time to tear up the Constitution.….
