Is a deeper game being played here? Hosting a U.S. base is generally seen as an economic benefit and hence there is an additional angle to consider here. I’m all for putting USAREUR and USAFE in the Czech Republic and especially in Poland. ABM bases are, Russian arm-waving aside, very difficult to characterize as aggressive. (Less “aggressive” than a BCT or a fighter wing, certainly.) I haven’t watched this closely, but perhaps if we look closely we can judge to what extent this system is a diplomatic “carrot.”

Hahahahahahahahahahah… you’re killing me. Attack Europe? With what? Are they planning on launching sheep at us? Or those hypothetical nukes. Or North-Korean missiles? If Iran attacks something, it’s Israel first.
This is just plain fearmongery. “Look, people of Europe! You’re in danger from several nondescript imaginary threats! You need us! Yes, really, you need us, we’re serious!” dixit US MoD.

Umm… I doubt it affects Russia… but I see another further away threat addtitional to Iran, which is called China.
I’m surprised China still haven’t done the Japan thing and invaded other places to allow their people to live without the current issues of overpopulation.
