The Sunday Paper

Here’s some amazing footage forward to us by the man who brought DT to the masses, Chris Michel. You can imagine the order these guys were issued: “You see that mushroom cloud, boys? Go get it!” And dig those equine gas masks …

Nuclear war is not only survivable … it can be fun!

So what in this is Chinese propaganda and what is real.
Horse attacks against a nuke site is obviously porpaganda. (The movie is obviously a cut from several unconnected scenes. Yes I know, John Wayne killed hundreds of Indians.)
So what has this to do with “Defense Tech” — still the title of this blog.
    Undeserved by now …

    B,
I don’t know how long you’ve read DT, but sundays are always a little more light-hearted and of the not-so-militarish variety.
And that always needs to be explained every Sunday.…

You know the possibility of surviving a blast and then attacking an objective, why seize the ground? Can’t live on ground zero for hundreds of years anyway.

    Mike,
Hiroshima and Nagasaki have modern populations of 1.6 million and 200,000.

You have obviously never heard of a Neutron Bomb. The blast, heat, and a high density of neutrons give it the same punch as an Atom Bomb. However, once the area is cooled down, it is habitable as the neutrons have disintegrated or been adsorbed into the ground or air. These are also referred to as Theatre Tactical Nuclear Weapons as they can be scaled down to the size of an artillery shell.
We will always lead the way in better ways to kill people, which is neither good nor bad. It is an unfortunate trait of humankind. If every weapon of every sort were to be taken away, we would pick up sticks and rocks to kill each other to death; also, the knowledge of weapons manufacture will not be extinguished. We will just beat each other senseless until someone revives weaponry that is more sophisticated. It is just a fact of life that will never change no matter how many Peace Protests are held. Besides, have you ever notice that Peace Protests become violent when their views are challenged?
    Better living through Physics…

The purpose of filming the test was propaganda. The troops attacking show that they are willing to expend troops in a follow up ground assault. The thing not shown at that time is the delivery system, missile or air drop. At this time 40+ years, we know they have missiles that can reach the US and that would include Japan & Korea. The Chinese want Taiwan in a walk over, no US interference. They have over 1.3 billion people to the US 0.3 billion. The US will have to kill a lot of Chinese and take a lot of KIAs to stop them militarily.

Yeah, Mike, the neutron program has residual half-life of a few hours, not hundreds of years. I can see where you get those mixed up, though.
The sad thing about neutron is that we seem to have tied our wrists back on the gig. Since a neutron flash can leave most structures standing, and wipe out just the combatants (or whomever is around ground zero), it has been deemed inhumane in use during warfare. Apparently, according to a great man, you have to knock things over in order for it to be ethical.
