And that’s assuming that Iranian warplanes had a straight shot into Israel. The minute the Mullahs sortie a strike package large enough to field against the razor sharp Israeli Air Force, the even sharper USAF and US Navy would make short work of it. That type of chest-thumping from Iran is the stuff that makes fighter jocks like Ward and Pinch drool.

Forget Iran,the real threat to Israel comes from Russia. Forgetting Russia’s blustering about attacking the Ukraine & Poland,Russia assured herself a clear path to the middle east by taking out Georgia. Armenia is already a loyal ally of Russia & Russia could pass her armies through Georgia(Russia only needs to control half of Georgia,like she is doing now) & into “friendly” Armenia. It doesn’t matter how “run-down” Russia’s armies are if her opponents’ armies are in worse shape than she is.
Russia could then marry her forces up with Iran & then the serious threat to Israel begins.
The key nation to watch is Turkey. If Turkey’s “Islamic” President & Prime Minister can run the “secularists” out of power & out of the Turkish army,then they most likely will join forces with Russia & Turkey,& then Russia has all of Turkey to maneuver through,in addition to the Georgian-Armenian path established.
As “insane” as all of this sounds,just keep a sharp eye on Turkey & the battle for power between the secular & Islamic parties.If the “Muslims” win out,then Turkey is out of NATO & our air bases closed,& Turkey is out of contention for joining the European Union.
Iran by herself is nothing & absolutely no threat whatsoever.

As for smuggling arms to Hezbollah in Lebanon…where do you think all those rockets came from used against Israel in 2006? We had control of Iraq then yet they still got smuggled into Lebanon, presumably through Syria or in civil cargo ships.
The one we should most worry about is the IRG smuggling a small nuke into the U.S. that they set of in the nation’s capital or NYC. Why are people assuming that only a Russian or Iranian strike is possible. Why not using one as a decoy or feint while the other hits. Remember the crazies in Iran do have the Shabah 3 which I read has a 1200–1500 mile range, why wouldn’t they use it as a feint while the other hits from even further.Or visa versa. Remember a good decoy is as good as an attack from/to another direction. Aren’t the Russians in bed with the crazies in Iran, why would they not use any deception at their disposal.
As American forces are in Iraq,(the middle of it all), wouldn’t any aggressor know that those forces would intercept & destroy any attack thereby making an attack on American forces pre-emmenant, therefore any attack by anyone from anywhere should be considered an attack on American forces. Interesting read. Indeed the old Testament does predict the distruction of the Kings of the North, East, and South. Exactly who those kings and what century is still baffling Biblical scholars. Ezekiel in the old testament bears the most information about the Armagedon taken for the Valley of Gaden in which God strikes down the Armies of the North, South and East. Incidentlly, the King of the West shall be lead to runation because of her apathy to the plight of his chosen people (Isreal). Somewhere in this melie, the Anti-Christ is to rise to power for 7 years. Turken indead does turn against Isreal in the final days too.

Ok, now people here are using the old testament prophecies to predict outcome of wars…I mean, cant people talk about Israel in a rational way without going bat-shit crazy?
Let’s look at some basic facts to keep all of this in the proper perspective.
1) There is no replacement for oil that is as economically efficient as oil. We can go to solar and nuclear power and have cars that are propelled by rainbow sunshine, and the technology will work, but we’ll be paying two and three times what we would pay for oil. This simple reality affects how we must act in global politics.
2) We benefit tremendously by being the world’s policeman. As much as it costs, and as busy as we stay with worrying over the actions of other countries, we gain enough to make it worthwhile. It is better to be Rome than to be the barbarian tribes.
3) These little buttcrack countries are dangerous only in the sense of a hornet’s nest. Iran will not destroy the US. Neither will Al Quaeda or Pakistan. If it comes down to all-out war, they cannot hope to stand against us. The US will be victorious. However, we don’t particularly want to get stung by the hornet if it can be avoided.
4) Russia isn’t our friend. They never have been. Whatever glimmer of hope they had back with Yeltsin is long gone. They’re going to stay in Georgia as long as they feel like it, pushing around the little kid to show how tough they are to the other kids in the Eastern European playground. We need to establish bases in those countries as quickly as is feasible to prevent them from doing this again and again and again.
5) Old Testament prophecies need to stay where they are — in the Old Testament. There is absolutely ZERO reason to believe that an ancient prophecy is about to come to pass RIGHT NOW. The prophecies of that age were misinterpreted by pretty much every single person in the Bible. They are NEVER easy to see or interpret. I think the chances of angels breaking open seven seals and unleashing plagues upon the land in the near future are somewhat less than the chances that they DON’T break open seven seals and unleash plagues.
