Who Cares? Iran says warplanes capable of reaching Israel

Iranian F4.jpg
It’s cookie cutter Iranian bluster, of course. Though some Iranian fighters do have the legs for such an operation, they’d have to drop most of their armament and load up on fuel to make the trip.
And that’s assuming that Iranian warplanes had a straight shot into Israel. The minute the Mullahs sortie a strike package large enough to field against the razor sharp Israeli Air Force, the even sharper USAF and US Navy would make short work of it. That type of chest-thumping from Iran is the stuff that makes fighter jocks like Ward and Pinch drool.
“Target rich environment?” Yeah, you betcha.

Perhaps Iran only has need for one plane, carrying one bomb, making a one-way trip.

Maybe Iran could ship the fighters in, piece by piece, via FedEx. That would count as “reaching” Israel, right?

Iran only has to get it right once and Israel is torched. Israel has to be right all the time to stop them. Kinda like “Missle Command” when you have one target city left and multiple incoming…

Iran has thumbed their nose at the international community for years. They have vowed to “wipe” Israel off the map.
They are not supposed to be making Nukes, but they are, with Russian assistance, surprise surprise…
When they do get a nuke, they will use it. It is the creed of the militant Islamists. Convert to Islam or be destroyed. In some twisted way they think they are doing God’s work.
Anyways, I do not think they will attempt to attack Israel by air. I think they will strap nukes to Donkeys and try and slip them across the border… Donkey-born nukes!

Tiny little Lebanese Hezbollah & Palestinian Hamas have also threatened to wipe Israel off the map,& Israel blow them out of existence any time she wanted to. Iran by her self is no serious threat to anyone. This is all just a ploy to keep oil prices up. This is like the 80’s & 90’s when Libya was built up to be a major world threat(her army is quite small & ragtag).
The Iranians are just a bunch of “inbred” mountain men(like in the movie “Deliverance”) who we are taking far more seriously than they deserve. Attacking them is like attacking & bombing the “Hatfields & McCoys.”

Forget Iran, the real threat to Israel comes from Russia. Forgetting Russia’s blustering about attacking the Ukraine & Poland,Russia assured herself a clear path to the middle east by taking out Georgia. Armenia is already a loyal ally of Russia & Russia could pass her armies through Georgia(Russia only needs to control half of Georgia, like she is doing now) & into “friendly” Armenia. It doesn’t matter how “run-down” Russia’s armies are if her opponents’ armies are in worse shape than she is.
Russia could then marry her forces up with Iran & then the serious threat to Israel begins.
The key nation to watch is Turkey. If Turkey’s “Islamic” President & Prime Minister can run the “secularists” out of power & out of the Turkish army, then they most likely will join forces with Russia & Turkey,& then Russia has all of Turkey to maneuver through,in addition to the Georgian-Armenian path established.
As “insane” as all of this sounds, just keep a sharp eye on Turkey & the battle for power between the secular & Islamic parties. If the “Muslims” win out, then Turkey is out of NATO & our air bases closed,& Turkey is out of contention for joining the European Union.
Iran by herself is nothing & absolutely no threat whatsoever.

    Roy,
Think Iranian Revolutionary Guard…the crazies in charge of speed boats around the Straits of Hormuz and more frightening…the ones responsible for Iranian Missiles. So while Ahmadinejad may make threatening noises to distract his people from the lousy economy, it is the IRG you gotta worry about launching or infiltrating nukes…just as they launched human wave attacks against Iraq near Basra.
Folks with that kind of mentality don’t adhere to western concepts of Mutually Assured Destruction. They seem perfectly willing to become martyrs if they can simultaneously wipe out much of Israel.
As for smuggling arms to Hezbollah in Lebanon…where do you think all those rockets came from used against Israel in 2006? We had control of Iraq then yet they still got smuggled into Lebanon, presumably through Syria or in civil cargo ships.
The one we should most worry about is the IRG smuggling a small nuke into the U.S. that they set of in the nation’s capital or NYC. If you watched Hannity’s America last night, he had an expert who showed how even a small 1 kiloton weapon would devastate Washington D.C resulting in 100,000 dead and perhaps twice as many in NYC.

Why are people assuming that only a Russian or Iranian strike is possible. Why not using one as a decoy or feint while the other hits. Remember the crazies in Iran do have the Shabah 3 which I read has a 1200–1500 mile range, why wouldn’t they use it as a feint while the other hits from even further.Or visa versa. Remember a good decoy is as good as an attack from/to another direction. Aren’t the Russians in bed with the crazies in Iran, why would they not use any deception at their disposal.
As American forces are in Iraq,(the middle of it all), wouldn’t any aggressor know that those forces would intercept & destroy any attack thereby making an attack on American forces pre-emmenant, therefore any attack by anyone from anywhere should be considered an attack on American forces. Otherwise their attack would not & could not succeed

    Cole,
“The prophecies in Ezekiel 38 and 39 indicate that God will put a hook in the jaw of Russia and bring her down against the land of Israel in the latter years.“
The idea of Russia attacking Israel defies common sense & conventional wisdom, but Russia WILL attack Israel.
Meanwhile,China will use North Korea to threaten South Korea,Japan,& pretty much the rest of the northern hemisphere(including North America & Europe) with ICBM technology that China AND Pakistan gave her(China most likely gave her the missiles too, since China has the technology to send astronauts & satellites into space). Plausible deniability will be on the part of China, because she can just say that North Korea is a renegade “loose cannon.” You said that,“Rockets and missiles are the poor country’s solution to being hoplessly outmatched in air supremacy due to stealth technology.” If North Korea is proved to have missiles that can reach the targets I mentioned, she had to of received the help & technology from someone far more advanced than she is(& that is China with the assistance of Pakistan). The same goes for Iran & the “help” she received. China is slyly using proxies to fight her wars for her,& when the world is busy fighting her proxies, she can then attack & invade Taiwan without interference from the U.S. or anyone else.

    Jeff M,
It is very plausible for Libya & the Sudan to lead a coalition of “ragtag” African countries(especially the African nations like Zimbabwe & Angola who are receiving aid & arms from China, just like the Sudan is doing).
it is very plausible for Israel to defeat & decimate Hezbollah(Lebanon),Hamas(& the rest of Palestine),Syria(with the nuking of Damascus, also predicted in the bible),Jordan,& Egypt in what appears to the world(& Russia,Turkey,Iran,Libya, the Sudan,& their “coalition” allies) to be a Pyrric victory where Israel is also decimated.
Things are happening that do line up with biblical prophesy made well over 2000 years or more ago(a lot of the prophesies are “Old Testament” prophesies made over 3000 years ago).
We can argue over where these ideas came from,BUT.….Russia is threatening her neighbors,Turkey could very well drive out here “secularist leaders” & replace them with islamic ones,Iran has become a threat to her neighbors,& Libya & the Sudan are rearming for a fight with someone.

Freedom? How much freedom would we have if our enemies who would destroy us have if we had no oil, or say only one third of what we have today, and they controlled the rest? Interesting read. Indeed the old Testament does predict the distruction of the Kings of the North, East, and South. Exactly who those kings and what century is still baffling Biblical scholars. Ezekiel in the old testament bears the most information about the Armagedon taken for the Valley of Gaden in which God strikes down the Armies of the North, South and East. Incidentlly, the King of the West shall be lead to runation because of her apathy to the plight of his chosen people (Isreal). Somewhere in this melie, the Anti-Christ is to rise to power for 7 years. Turken indead does turn against Isreal in the final days too.
Are we seeing the coming of the end? Time will tell but for me I’m keeping my bags packed and maintaining my faith in Jesus Christ.

Let’s look at some basic facts to keep all of this in the proper perspective.
    1) There is no replacement for oil that is as economically efficient as oil. We can go to solar and nuclear power and have cars that are propelled by rainbow sunshine, and the technology will work, but we’ll be paying two and three times what we would pay for oil. This simple reality affects how we must act in global politics.
    2) We benefit tremendously by being the world’s policeman. As much as it costs, and as busy as we stay with worrying over the actions of other countries, we gain enough to make it worthwhile. It is better to be Rome than to be the barbarian tribes.
    3) These little buttcrack countries are dangerous only in the sense of a hornet’s nest. Iran will not destroy the US. Neither will Al Quaeda or Pakistan. If it comes down to all-out war, they cannot hope to stand against us. The US will be victorious. However, we don’t particularly want to get stung by the hornet if it can be avoided.
    4) Russia isn’t our friend. They never have been. Whatever glimmer of hope they had back with Yeltsin is long gone. They’re going to stay in Georgia as long as they feel like it, pushing around the little kid to show how tough they are to the other kids in the Eastern European playground. We need to establish bases in those countries as quickly as is feasible to prevent them from doing this again and again and again.

    5) Old Testament prophecies need to stay where they are — in the Old Testament. There is absolutely ZERO reason to believe that an ancient prophecy is about to come to pass RIGHT NOW. The prophecies of that age were misinterpreted by pretty much every single person in the Bible. They are NEVER easy to see or interpret. I think the chances of angels breaking open seven seals and unleashing plagues upon the land in the near future are somewhat less than the chances that they DON’T break open seven seals and unleash plagues.

Come on,we could have just as easily quoted Nostradamus(who people seem to take seriously & quote a lot) as far as “prophesy” goes. Look how many people are taking seriously the Mayan calender that the world will end in 2012.HG Wells predicted that World War III will begin in Basra,Iraq.
People have researched what modern nations are today in the areas of the people who occupied the same space during Old Testament times.
If the U.S. in the future was to disappear & another nation take its place,we could today only describe that future nation by landmarks we recognise today. As far as predictions go,the bible has been pretty spot on.
By the way, isn’t Meshech the Hebrew(which Israel currently speaks) name for Moscow?

I am not a big fan of Iran but they definitely should have launched a preemptive strike on Israel by now.

Yeah, the people who pay attention to Nostradamus and the Mayan calendar are nuts too.
The Bible is only accurate when you look at it through the lens of history. We can look back and say “oh, see, here this prophecy from 1500 BC fits with what happened here in 500 BC.” The Bible is not accurate when people have tried to use it to predict the future. People who lived at the time of Jesus interpreted his prophecies to mean that the second coming would happen in just a few years. People in the middle ages thought the end of the world was approaching. In the 1800s there were people who believed they were living in the end times. In the 1960s and 1970s, people thought Yuri Gellar was the Antichrist. All of these people thought they had found scriptures that supported their beliefs. Well…
    SPOILERS
Jesus did not return in 40 AD. The world didn’t end in the middle ages. Martin Luther wasn’t the Antichrist. The Rapture didn’t take place in the 1800s.

Of course, we have handed our Constitutional souls over to the devil but hey:, omelettes, eggs, small price to pay, that sort of thing. The Founding Fathers would have understood perfectly I am sure.
