Whatchyou Talking About Willis?

It seems like you all are talking alot about the Magpul/Bushmaster ACR, so I dug up this YouTube video from Future Weapons (I want that guy’s job) and decided to post it here.

As more of you make convincing pitches for M4 replacements, I’ll dig up whatever video I can find and feature it here…

Looks good to me as long as it’s not in 5.56mm, either 6.5mm or 6.8mm and add to that a SAW version that fires from an open bolt in full auto.
Let’s take it one step further and go with the .40cal handgun and a PDW that fires the same round.
has anybody checked out the Israeli Tavor and it’s sighting systems? They even have an advanced sight for firing rifle grenades and 40mm grenades.
It seems everybody is ahead of us on small arms, even China, Russia and now countries like Singapore and South Korea.
Forget NATO they are living in the past and are too cheap. At least those other countries are taking the American dollars we give them and doing something with it other than horde it like the Europeans.

Good contender. I like the flexibility, that it can fire different caliber ammo, but to be truly innovative it should have a 25mm kit and fire a 10 clip of grenades. A change from the under-mount 40mm and onto the dedicated grenade rifle. Add air burst capability to the modular sight and it’d be a great contender.

    1) Finally
    2) This was shot at Scottsdale Gun Club in Scottsdale (duh), Arizona. I’m a member — that place is crazy. If you’re ever around, check it out.
    3) Anybody have an update as to when it will be out? I heard Q1 09.
    4) Pricing — I heard from a Bushmaster rep that $1000–1500 is the planned price for the civilian version.

Seriously though… looks neat. I imagine not losing all those parts will be a challenge though.

not sure what u mean big daddy. theres a lot of great guns out there in the west, its just that a lot of them arent fully adopted.
Dunno why you’re talking about europeans hording money either, considering they produce some of the best guns in the world (but somehow i dont think u were talking about that fact anyway)

That last comment was more of an economic observation and how it applies to state of the art small arms.
The Chinese, Soviets, Israelis and many other nations shave taken our basic concept ideas that our military discarded and make less complex and less expensive versions.
So far some nice stuff that we should have are:
    http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/small_arms/tavor/Tavor.html
http://world.guns.ru/grenade/gl34-e.htm This is basically very similar to the Barrett XM-109 payload rifle.
The Russians have an extensive amount of special weapons for their troops.
There is a lot of other equipment out there that WE should have and do not. The XM-26 is a perfect example of 3 steps ahead and 2 steps back, a simple short barreled shotgun with a Knoxx pistol grip would do the job better and cheaper.

A word on parts retention, Just like the AR, all pins and “screws” are captured so it all stays in large assemblies. Only way you are losing anything is if you lose a bigass chunk of gun.
If you wanna go with a 25mm “cannister gun” I suggest you bump up to the Masada’s “big brother” in 7.62x51.
Personally I don’t think you want a dedicated “grenade gun” without a rifle…

Dang, Sam you have some serious issues, and I must completely agree with Valcan. First off, all the 1.2 Billion Muslims need to stop thinking it is “our way” or we will blow ourselves to “Allah”, and you He11. Then leave Israel alone, have you looked at a map recently, who is surrounded and outnumbered? Who is the cowardly antagonist as well? Hummmmmm…
Oh, yah about the gun. Looks awesome but the M4 has such a foothold in the market it will be hard to get rid of. All the M4 needs is an upper upgrade to the 6.5 Grendel and a gas piston system.
    http://www.65grendel.com/
    http://www.gaspiston.com/
Add those two upgrades and you are good to go. AK reliability, better range than a 308 and the accuracy and part availability of the AR! What more could you want (except some leftover cash, I know!)

Yes, I have serious issues with Israeli war crimes and terrorism. You do understand that Israel has illegally occupied and persecuted the Palestinian people for over 40 years and not the other way around, right? Does anybody not understand that? Have YOU looked at a map recently? You should be telling the Israelis to leave the Palestinians alone.
Additionally, 1.2 billion Muslims don’t all think alike just like 1 billion Christians don’t think alike.
For those of you who are offended by my pro-Arab opinions, don’t worry. I will likely be banned from posting here very soon.

If the palestinians stopped suiciding on the isreelis and atacking them any way they can, then they could discuss about those territorial issues. But it seems that the palestinians have more brains to make bombs and suicide than to think about diplomacy.
Personally i think that the Israelis should make an ultimatum to them. Either or you stop attacking us, or we occupy what’s left of your contry and kick your asses into oblivion.
But that’s my 100% pro israeli opinion, and i’m not 100% on their side, more like 95%

First of all I wanna say that I seriously disapprove any kind of flame/spam in this topic especially about middle-east crisis which is something completely out of discussion. And Valcan, G-Dog and DJ_PB should be smarter than reacting to this obvious top class spam/flame and rather report this obvious violation of rules to mod/admin.
Second this weapon is really impressive. Guys from bushmaster have added some small things that brought this baby little bit closer to the perfection.

I seriously wish this gun to all guys apart from better bullet-proof vests, better tents, medkits, helmets, NVGs, thermals, optics, GLs, up-armored humvees, anti-IED techs etc etc. Good hunting.

Yup, the hell with NATO. Aside from the UK, we are on our own. I like the Masada’s flexibility, but I like the 6.8mm more than the 5.56 even more. LWRC is another gun maker that has overtaken Colt and the M-4. Its time to go our own way on this. As far as sidearms go, there was an article about FN’s Five-seveN. 5.7–28, 20 rnd mag. Sounds impressive.
