I stopped watching it a couple of years ago when they portrayed Dick Cheney as Darth Vader.

Front Line started to take a turn to the left a decade or so ago. To bad.<br

I think this is a solid strategy as sooner or later the Taliban and Al Qaeda will self destruct. They made critical mistakes in Iraq, their making critical mistakes in Pakistan, and they are making mistakes in Afghanistan.

“In the mean time, we can continue killing as many as possible.“<br

In the mean time, we can continue killing as many as possible. That place has no economics to offer and have no desire to be modern.
Without economics, security, and some sort of governance, there is no way out of that black hole. Pacify and modify, with or without force, one isolated village at a time, I guess.
Nation building in those parts are an understatement, since they lack, well, everything. Throw in their stupid religion and culture, and it is even more difficult to make progress.

Afghanistan/Pakistan is a several decade struggle/stalemate at best, and that is with a real international effort, which is a pipe dream.
