OK, you guys knew I had to do this. But I thought it would be fun to run an election poll here since we have so many international readers.
Make sure to comment on why you think your candidate is the better pick, we can at least take advantage of the discussion one more day, right?
ALERT: Make sure to tune in to WAVY TV.com tonight between 8:00pm and 10:00pm to participate in the online chat with Military.com Editor, DT contributor and my boss Ward Carroll as he discusses the impact of the election on the military community.

I’m voting for McCain/Palin for similar values that I believe in. I believe a marriage should be between a man and a woman and I believe life starts at conception. I also believe we need to keep a strong national defense not weaken it and raise taxes to “spread the money around”. But hey, that’s just me. I’m just one vote, but I’m voting anyway.
On another note, I wish we could do away with parties and for that matter anything related to making money off of politics. I doubt that will ever happen but I think we’d be a much better country if it could be done.
/waits for obamatons to nerf the polls…..again
Just say no to grouchy old men……
For me, National Security comes first, and McCain/Palin is head and shoulders above anyone else on this issue. Next, is the economy, and though I doubt McCain will perform any miracles like cutting spending in Washington, he at least isn’t anti-prosperity as is the other side.
I voted for Obama because of his foreign policy ideals. If the only difference between McCain and Obama was America’s reputation abroad, then Obama is the clear choice. If we want to get things done, wether it be the war on terror, Iran, North Korea, etc. we need allies. And Obama would be in a much better position than McCain.
But that’s is only one reason. Obama has the intellectual curiosity, and the backing of many respected military officials. That good enough of an endorsement for me.
One reason I couldn’t bring myself to vote for McCain. Sarah Palin. I’m sorry, but she is entirely unqualified to be president, and even when you make the argument that she is more qualified than Obama, she doesn’t show the intelligence and judgement necessary for the highest office.
Thats just my opinion, and I would never look down on my fellow Americans just because they voted for McCain ( :
I held my nose and voted for McCain, if for no other reason than McCain didn’t start his career in the living room of, chair the Wood’s fund and Chicago Annenburg Challenge with, have his political events hosted by, or have his biography ghost written by a psychopathic, Communist/anarchist, murdering, unrepentant terrorist who declared war on America, bombed the Pentagon and Capital and planned to split America into 4 parts (one for Russia, one for China, one for Vietnam, and one for Cuba), drag Americans to concentration camps in the southwest and liquidate 25 million Americans who couldn’t be “re-educated” away from their love of freedom.

Oh, and John McCain never campaigned for a candidate like Odinga who ran on the promise to institute Sharia and then incited riots and terrorism when he lost.

yes your right everyone will love america soon after all who could hate a coward who bends over at the slitest amount of pressure…and so our country gets sucked dry and turned into a socalist “paradise” so long to the last republic Romes legacy is dead.
I voted for Obama because I like his policies on the future of science and technology. There are several areas that Obama wishes to expand and greatly benefit the scientific community. This will increase R&D across the board and make the US once again the leader of the world in science.
McCain…….you just got pWNED bitch!
stayed home because I considered this election to be a total fraud
Than shut the F__K UP!!!!!
and anyone who voted obama is a retard health insurance, science, blablablabla…how will it be funded when our economy is run into the ground?
yes but once again he got half the popular vote….what does that tell you?
Really? You believe Obama’s only intention is to run our economy into the ground? Really?
Can I see some facts to support your case, or is it just nonsense. Because, really, your statements don’t match up. These are just words, nothing more, holding no weight.
When one uses profanity, one uses incompetence.
Ahhahahahahahahahahahaaaaa!
suck on that you cryptofascist morons!
The real shame is that Obama doesn’t even come close to being the baby-eating monster of your sick fantasies, ‘cos if he was then I could enjoy watching you all be chewed up and spat out by zombies. But I’ll have to make do with seeing America run by a sane, intelligent man. O happy day!
“Moron wrote
“suck on that you cryptofascist morons!”
You shouldnt use such big words their obviously beyond your little mind.
I can’t wait to see what Obama will do to defense spending.
If you work for a defense contractor you’re going to face hard times.
Why do the McCain supporters all sound so crazy?
And is homophobia still so common in the US, or is it just one small section of the military community?
For what it’s worth, Obama certainly comes across as being saner, more rational and more likely to make wise decisions when it comes to miliary matters. McCain looked like he would have started more wars; Obama, hopefully, will finish wars.
“You shouldnt use such big words their obviously beyond your little mind”
Maximum, you shouldn’t use such big words like “their”. “Their” obviously over your head.
I voted Obama because McCain’s plan will cut government revenue into pieces, yet his health care plan will probably cost over $2 trillion, and he wants to add over 150,000 troops to the military. How is he planning to fund this?
Obama is spending a lot, but at least he is spending it in areas that will,in the long run, pay big dividends, like in green technology, education, and other important technology.
Bush had this weird idea that, by giving tax cuts to the insanely rich, he could boost the economy. And, well, it worked for a couple years, and then growth slowed and slowed and slowed until this past quarter, when it actually dropped.
McCain STILL has this weird idea that by giving more tax cuts to everyone (increasing the deficit beyond all previous limits), he’ll reboot the economy. One word for this proposal: RIDICULOUS!
I voted for Biden over Palin.
AMMO you’re totally self contradicting. You say muslims hate us for our foreign policy, which for the past 8 years has been run by the Republicans and wouldn’t have changed under McCain.
You say they see as adulterous, obscene, hypocritical, and dishonorable. But you voted for the guy who cheated on his wife and dumped her while she was in the hospital. A guy who only made it through Annapolis on the reputation of his family.
You say that it’s people like Obama who are responsible for the wars, and yet all the reasons you give to support it point to people like McCain and Bush.
Kinda interesting

Ok dip shite think about it this way the top 5% of this country pays 95% of ALL our taxes…….so how bout that?
Of course im lying or just stupid and could never be right
“And is homophobia still so common in the US”
Yep, I and most are scared to death of what the
fag/homo will do to the USA.
Keep the buttpuckers out of the military.
What Bob, you afraid they’ll make it FAAAHB-U-LUSSS!
Seriously, dude, what are they going to do to the military? Fight proudly for a country they love. AGGHHHHH the horror.
I can’t wait until this generations ideals are everyone’s. It doesn’t matter if they are black, or gay, or catholic. They are a person entitled to their opinion and no one person’s better than the other. Why should we fear what is different than our own? But to accept and see what we can learn and achieve by cooperation and just being “nice”.
Ask yourself why? Arrogance is the downfall of civilization. A feeling of superiority is NOT American. Read the Declaration of Independence. All people are equal. Believing otherwise is not American, or to others living outside the greatest country the ideals of “western society”.
Really, this is the future. This “I hate gays and blacks” is quickly becoming and minority ideal.
Dear Sirs,
I
I get your point about “why they hate us” AMMO. However it still doesn’t explain why you would vote for McCain – who is practically the personification of these issues – over Obama.
