Sestak Possible For SecNav?

sestak.jpg

Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Penn.), the former admiral who was fired by the man who is now Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, appears to be in the running for Navy Secretary.

At this point it is hard to tell if Sestak is promoting himself often the kiss of death for those seeking senior positions in a new administration — or if the Obama administration is considering his nomination.

On the first day he rose to lead the Navy, then-Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Mullen fired Sestak, who was deputy chief of naval operations for warfare requirements and programs. Two years later Sestak retired from the Navy. He was canned for creating a poor command climate. In plain English, the driven naval leader treated those who worked for him badly, often using his temper to lash those who worked for him. Some of his staff quit without new jobs.

Still, some sources who know Sestak praise his intellect and drive, noting that he rose fast and far in the Navy. And two political observers noted that he unseated former Rep. Curt Weldon (R-Penn.), defeating the veteran congressman with a substantial 56 percent of the vote.

In other transition news, Air Force Secretary Mike Donley looks to have a reasonable shot at staying on in his position. Among the compelling reasons for his remaining is the terrible churn the Air Force has suffered at the highest levels over the last five years. Since 2004 there have been five acting or confirmed Air Force secretaries and Donleys predecessor, Mike Wynne, was canned by Defense Secretary Robert Gates. Keeping Donley, especially since Gates has decided to stay, would send a strong signal to the service that Gates wants to continue the changes that Donley has begun to improve the nuclear enterprise and generally rebuild the service.

Oh! From the title I thought they wanted a Sleestak for Secretary of the Navy.
    That would have been scary.

‘the driven naval leader treated those who worked for him badly, often using his temper to lash those who worked for him. Some of his staff quit without new jobs.‘
Automatic disqualification from consideration for the job. If you think you can’t get people to work for you without profanity-laced tirades, you’re not a leader.

I hope that all Christian servicemen & veterans pray that Joe Sestak is not selected to become Secretary of the Navy. He’s obviously an abusive social climber with the attitude of a rabid pit bull. God help us all who have been in naval service if this zealot becomes SECNAV. Sestak appears to have the overambitious drive of a naval academy honor graduate.

Sleestak seems like the kind of arrogant asshole this future administration is looking for. Remember, these people making up Barky’s cabinet are the ones who cried big tears of sorrow when that liar Mikey Boorda offed himself. I guess it’s true that “the devil loves his own children.”

I do think that “Little” Mikey Boorda should have been awarded a medal for offing himself, because that was the “most courageous” thing he ever did to save the navy.

Isn’t there a rule that former military nominees for the service secretaries need to have been retired from active duty for at least five years? Something about civilian leadership, ya know?
Sestak left the Navy…in 2005, right? So…he can’t do it.

Don’t be too impressed by Sestak beating Curt Weldon. Weldon was/is up to his ears in a corruption probe– his daughter was making big bucks in some company Weldon may/not have ties to–

Curt Weldon was upseated by Sestak due to heavy campaigning by Bill Clinton (the Sestak/Curt Weldon election was the only one mentioned by Clinton in his infamous 60 minutes tirade) because Weldon was the main push investigating Able Danger, the intelligence program that identified Mohammed Atta as a suspect long before 9/11. This was a direct tie between Clinton and his culpability for 9/11 through a failure of intelligence gathering instigated by Gorelick’s wall between intelligence/police matters erected to shield Clinton from Chinagate.
Sestak is a Clinton puppet and Weldon was targeted for destruction through his daughter by Clintonites still embedded in the Justice department.

Curt Weldon was unseated by Sestak because Curt Weldon was a seriously corrupt whack job. Some of his more impressive moments was holding a coronation* for the Reverend Sun Myung Moon in a Senate building and visiting Libya to give an award to Khadafy.
    *No, I’m not kidding.
“f you think you can’t get people to work for you without profanity-laced tirades, you’re not a leader.“
George Patton would likely disagree with you.

–Weldon was joined by a bevy of both Democrat and Republican Congressman who attended the event to praise Moon’s efforts toward world peace. The AP reported that Weldon, amongst others, didn’t know there was going to be a coronation ceremony and wouldn’t have attended if they knew.
Weldon was involved with Libya after Libya gave up its WMD programs and came clean about them to the US. That’s why he was in Libya. I guess your Democrat buddies in this picture are a bunch of whackjobs, too.
