Heading to SHOT and Other Bidness

OK folks, so I’m headed to the 2009 Annual SHOT Show in Orlando. It’s my first time there so I’m pretty psyched, if not a little intimidated by its scope.

I will be updating the blog on cool things I run across and other new gear news and information. I’m taking both still and video camera, so stay tuned for “multi-media” updates.

Also, several of our contributors will be there, including the mad-scientist Dave Woroner, the nut jobs at BreachBangClear and our friend, the editor of SoldierSystems blog. Also, I’ll be hanging out with the folks from Tactical-Life.com and my old friend and compadre Robert Brown from Soldier of Fortune magazine. It should be a great collection of rogues and scoundrels.

In the meantime, here’s the latest on the FNH-USA submission for the Marine Corps Infantry Automatic Rifle.
FN IAR Description

Also, feel free to send suggestions on things you’d like me to check out.

Christian,
Please check out Rachels while in Orlando. Or if you really want to have fun give me a call in Tampa and we will go to the better adult establishments on my side of the world.

Hey could you please check out the Bushmaster ACR stand and see what modifications they have done to it?

Could you find out the specs (including effective range) for the 6.5mm Grendel and the 6.8mm SPC?

Is the article title (bidness) a reference to the video of the guy from Magpul demo-ing the FMG-9?

This is the first SHOT Show I’ve missed in 5 years. If it’s your first, you’ll love it and your legs and feet will be screaming at the end of the day.
You’ll also find having a Press Pass will open a lot of doors (I’m an occasional writer for one of the big gun-rags, which helps)
There is usually a big “Press Day” at a local range where they drag the writers out to pop some caps with all the new gear and feed us pretty well, so check it out if you get the chance. Last year in Vegas the KRISS was the big hit with everyone.
Have fun, it can really be a blast!
