I received a note from a good friend with connections to the government of the Republic of Georgia late Friday totally denying the rumors about a ganked arms shipment and help for Israel’s strike plans on Iran.
From Batu Kutelia, Georgian Ambassador to the USA, Canada and Mexico:
“The story is categorically false. There was no US arms shipment that was halted in transit for any reason. Furthermore, Georgia is not cooperating with Israel on potential military action against any country. Our military cooperation with our partners is designed to increase our self defense capabilities, our interoperability with NATO, and our ability to contribute to international stability operations.”

There's no denial like a governmental denial.
The absense of "halted" US arms shipment does not mean though that there was any shipment at all…
Bet it was more like a classified plan to attack Iran if war broke out for one reason or another.
Just as Iran prepares for attacks against Israel & USA if war was declared.
It's natural for defense departments to have such plans in place.
As I see it Iran prepares the most. As their government is in the same scenario the Baathists of Iraq were prior to our invasion.. pressured, sanctioned & probed.
Our media & humanitarian agencies need to change their ways or WWIII is inevitable.
The story about attacking Iran is bullshit. Seems like US agreed not to transfer lethal weapons to Georgia after some pressure from Russians.
Speculation, speculation, blah blah blah. There's something called "confirmation bias" which means that human beings tend to seek out information that confirms what we already think about the world. So when there's a big void of information, like with this story, we tend to want to fill that void with details that support our worldview. So all this speculation reveals far more about the authors than in does about the world.
So here's my own speculation, and you can determine for yourselves what it says about me. If the original story was a lie, it was a lie that was cooked up to make Obama look like a pussy. It's the same sort of lie that plagues all Democratic presidents (Ex: "Clinton did nothing to stop Bin Laden". Response: http://bit.ly/4F19J5).
