We met some reps from EMA Tactical at the SHOT Show media day and learned about a couple items they’re flacking to the US market.
Mike Grandy showed us their new Countdown Magazine for the M4 class of weapons, which diverges from the traditional see-through countdown mags by incorporating a an actual rotating counter showing exactly how many rounds remain. The numbers are color coded green, yellow and red to indicate which 3rd of the load you’ve got left.
Pretty nifty piece of gear for $25 bucks.

James Cameron in Aliens was a true visionary
Will these work in the M40A Pulse Rifle?
I thought this thing was previewed last year at SHOT by someone else? CAA I think? Could be wrong. At the time I remember reading that it was "coming soon."
Lets one up them and make a scope that shows a bar that displays ammo level for the shooter and color code it red when he's about to go bingo ammo.
That way the shooter doesn't have to take their eyes of fthe scope while they're shooting….
That would be really smart!!! Eotech get on it or Aimpoint will take over
Sokar, the counter won't be visible to an enemy head-on. You'd have to be behind the person with a scope to see it…and that gives you more advantages than simply knowing someone's magazine capacity.
Awesome, let the enemy sniper know how many rounds our rifles have and relay it to his friends.
Along with what Charles said below… if a enemy sniper saw you, he wouldn't be looking at your weapons magazine clip. He be looking at your head just as he pulls the trigger. :)
Will this doohickey work after 2 months of being rattled around in the sandbox? If you can't trust it, it's worse than useless!
I'll take the see-through version, if it's all the same to you.

a solution looking for a problem.
If you see one of those terrorist, Osama pics with AK47 with a long magazine. I think we should adopt long magazine for any M's rifle , machine gun and etc. The terorrist is many and the war is long. And they (US soldiers) need everything they can have against the fight against terrorism
Id rather have a standard 30 round mag and have 8 of them rather than a 40 or 50 round mag and have 8 of those. Longer mags equal more ammo which in turn equals more weight.
I will stick with magpul tyvm
can i get a mag for my PULSE PLASMA rifle? Damn that thing rocks? LOL!!!
