But, as the saying goes, "He may be an SOB, but (for now, at least), he is our SOB." However, it is my understanding that Gen. McChrystal and Karzai have managed to forge a close bond with each other, which is encouraging. Gen. Barno appears to have it right. Since serving at West Point (enlisted), I've always been extremely proud and honored by the intelligence, candor, and pragmatism of our senior Officers Corps. I feel the upcoming Kandahar campaign will determine which direction to go. Anyone headed there? I'd love to hitch a ride.
