Our man in Farnborough, Glenn Anderson, shot some video of British firm Air2Air’s DraganFlyer X6 Mini tri-rotor helicopter mini drone (I think it might be a bit large to be classified a micro-drone). The highly-maneuverable drone, which Air2Air claims most anybody can operate with just two days instruction, carries low light or infra-red cameras and eleven gyroscopes and sensors that self-stabilize the thing while in flight. The DraganFlyer X6 package, with instruction included, costs about $33,000.

How does it deal with wind?
I think it should be fine in moderate winds. My hobby is remote controlled airplanes and helicopters. I know there are many cheap gyros and other gizmos that can keep small flying things steady. The DraganFlyer no doubt uses many, many expensive doo-dads to keep the camera and itself steady. Now I just need $33,000.
$33,000? For that thing? Check out the Hexacopter, http://hexacopters.com/
You can buy a kit for 1,200€ euros, https://www.mikrocontroller.com/index.php?main_pa…
This one looks awesome too
The Hexacopter is cheaper. However, I recall the Hexacopter's name being completely devoid of the word "Dragon". Thus a less awesome experience will ensue. How doth one even compare thine mighty dragon to a mere six-sided shape? Thoust doth NOT! AND THOU SHALT SEE THINE WIND BLOW UPON HIS MAJESTY! MAY HIS DIVINE FIRE SURGE THROUGHOUT THINE DARK SKY AND ENGULF THOSE IN DIRE REQUSITE OF HIS CELESTIAL BEING! HIS SANCTITY SHALT ABSOLVE THOSE OF THINE OWN DAMNATION!
What?
The helicopter was not designed by Air2Air but instead by Draganfly Innovations Inc. of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
It looks like fun… I want one
Perfect for the paparazzi
build one!, i just built mine for 300$ even with transmitter battery adn charger included.. 30minute flight time, 1/2 lb payload, 35 fps vertical speed. 22mph landseed. lots of fun!. not gps controlled but whats the fun in that?…does great in wind too. very low horizontal drag and gyro stabilized so it always stays upright.
